CMSEC's Summer Mission Silhouette. NASA's Real Life Enterprise May Take Us to Other Star Systems. Huge Imaginarium. A Great Start to Your Weekend.

Hello Space Fans,
The Christa McAuliffe Space Education Center (CMSEC) is telling Silhouette this summer as one of its four new missions.  Megan Warner, CMSEC director, sent the following story element from Silhouette to be enjoyed by our Troubadour readers.  It comes from the planet Deus Planetia.  This article acts as a mission briefing for Silhouette.  It sounds like an awesome story.
Visit the CMSEC's website to book a summer camp.  spacecenter@alpinedistrict.org or call Megan or Jon at 801.785.8713.

From the Deus Times:
As all Deus Planetian citizens know, last night was the Planetian State of the Union address. In his speech, President Michael Duvalier spoke on the status of the economy, especially in regards to his former company Majestic Labs, as well as the new proposed bill on schooling regulations. Most notably, President Duvalier addressed the emerging threat from the terrorist group known simply as 'Silhouette'. The following is an excerpt from the address:
"So soon after this nation has emerged from the most devastating war in its history, our country is again threatened.  This new war is not one of sending soldiers to the front lines, to fight against a foe that we know; this new war is within Deus Planetia.   It is a war where our enemy cannot be seen; a war where our enemy is not known, save a name.     The recent attack on the Majestic Labs factory on Deus Prime has been linked with an organization that refers to themselves as Silhouette.  Silhouette stands against this country and everything that it represents.  They disagree with our process of democracy.  They fight against the vote of the majority.  They fight against the very ideals upon which our country was founded.     Although we do not know our enemy, we do know their plan.  The attack three days ago gives us that.  They attacked not a government building but a key structure to the economy of this nation.  They do not intend to meet us face to face, but to undermine our economic interests.  They want to slowly eat away at our capacity to fight back, until we have neither the means or the willpower to do so.     They are cowards. They refuse to show their faces. We are not.  We will stand tall, strong and proud against this growing threat. We will show Silhouette that they can attack us, they can stab us, they can do everything in their power to bring Deus Planetia to its knees. But they cannot hurt us.  We will show Silhouette that we will not fall.  We must unite as a people and stand together to bring Silhouette to an end.     We will not simply suppress them, but we will seek out and destroy every piece of Silhouette, that they may never rise again.  In doing so, we will send a message to all those who would threaten the peace of Deus Planetia.  We will show Silhouette and every face under the stars that Deus Planetia will not be brought into submission, but that we are strong, and that nothing can destroy us.  This great nation will 'not go gently into that good night'; we will 'rage against the dying of the light.'"
More on the State of the Union and the reaction it garnered from the government and citizens as it becomes available.

NASA's real life Enterprise may take us to other star systems one day
Dr. Harold "Sonny" White is still working on a warp drive at NASA's Johnson Space Center. His work is still in the experimental stage but that doesn't mean he can't imagine what the real lifeEnterprise ship would look like according to his math.
You're looking at it right now.

This is the starship that may take us where no human has gone before. And it has me screaming like a little Klingon girl.

Concept 3D artist Mark Rademaker told io9 that "he worked with White to create the updated model, which includes a sleek ship nestled at the center of two enormous rings, which create the warp bubble."
