The Starship Leo Returns to Space Duty at the Lion's Gate Center. Members of the Greatest Minds Club Gather to Learn Thorium Tactical Creation. The Jumpship Hyperion is Looking Even Better and Launches for its Space Trials This Week. An Alien Substance Discovered in Mr. Williamson's Classroom. Theater Imaginarium.

The Starship Leo has Returned to Active Duty at the Lion's Gate Shipyards at Saratoga Shores

The Starship Leo was taken out of active duty at Lakeview Academy when the Apollo and Artemis launched.  Admirals Rick Veasey and Nathan King considered whether or not the Leo would be refitted and returned to service in the fleet or sent to the scrapyard for decommissioning and the removal of the ship's warpcore.  After much thought the decision was made to return the Leo to duty.

The Starship Leo has been given a new lease on life and is ready to join the other ships of the Space EdVentures Community: Voyager, Everest, Dauntless, Apollo, Artemis, Titan, Valiant, and Hyperion. For information on booking the Leo, or any of the Space EdVentures ships, for a private party visit DiscoverySpaceCenter.com.

Members of the Greatest Minds Club Gather for a Workshop on Thorium Tactical Creation

A few of the greatest minds in the Space EdVentures community gathered at Renaissance Academy, home of the Farpoint Space Center, on Thursday evening to learn the ins and outs of using Alex Anderson's Thorium Starship Simulator system to create the tactical screens you see displayed on the main viewers of the ship's you visit.  Even though my membership in the Greatest Mind's Club is being called into question after having crashed Thorium on the computer I was using numerous times during the training, I was still happy with what I saw everyone else doing.

Creating tactical cards is the challenge when producing new missions for any of the Space Centers.  Writing a mission is something anyone with a bit of talent can do. Finding a Center to tell your story is more of a challenge.  Creating the tactical cards to illustrate your mission on the main view screens is the Mt. Everest standing in your path.  That is where Thorium comes in to save the day.

Alex Anderson's Thorium has a tactical generator that will do the job, and with a bit of training, and practice, one can master Thorium and make those cards so your mission can be told.  Contact Alex for more information and / or a Thorium demonstration:  Thoriumsim.com.

Contact me if you have an interest in using Thorium to create tactical cards. I've got a couple new missions I've written, and a few of my older missions that need cards. We all know how exciting it would be to create the visuals for a new Mr. Williamson mission, right?

Thank you for your time and  Consideration of my Request,
Mr. Williamson

Telos Discovery Space Center's Jumpship Hyperion Launches for its Deep Space Trials This Week

The Hyperion Bridge with the new desk modification
The Hyperion has moved out of the shipbuilding yards at the Telos Station and into the primary launching dock at the Outland Corporation Fitting Yards. Outland engineers will be fine tuning the ship's Outland Series 4 Jump engine in preparation for the Hyperion's space trials set to start this week.  Telos Commanding Officer, Admiral Ryan Anderson, expresses great hopes for the Hyperion and the role it will play in Earth's deep space exploration program and in promoting Earth's interests in the Diaspora at Capital Point.  "The Hyperion will take its place alongside the other great ships representing Earth," he said proudly as he watch the ship gracefully pull away from the shipyard under its own power.

Wednesday afternoon the Telos Discovery leadership team met for their weekly administrative meeting in the Hyperion's nearly finished Briefing Room.  The team discussed the upcoming ship trials and considered how to man the ship. Admiral Anderson remarked on the many years that have passed since he directed the great ship Odyssey at the CMSEC. "I'm excited to get into the flight director's chair again," he said.  "You'll all need to be patient."

The Hyperion Briefing Room

Admiral Maeson Busk was busy crimping ethernet cords during the meeting. Multitasking is his speciality.  The "To-Do" list behind him was extensive but manageable, especially with the talented people who make up the Telos Discovery Team.

The Outland Corporation's Series 4 Jump Core was in place and waiting for the space trials.  The soft blue glow of its fusion drive will give the room a cool phosphorescence glow with a radioactive shimmer.  Not to worry, the radiation isn't harmful, as long as the crew maintains their iodine tablet routine.  It has been mentioned that the Series 4 Jump Core does an excellent job removing those stubborn wrinkles in hard to press fabric.  Step into a meeting with a wrinkled uniform, step out perfectly pressed and ready for the day.

The Hyperion Control Room's Master Switches. Isn't it cool that the Hyperion has an automatic cleaning system. Flip the switch and the ship's android maintenance personnel jump right to it!  Wow, two smoke machines, we're talking some pretty heavy battles.

One final note, the Hyperion occupies a section of the second floor of Telos Academy in Vineyard, Utah.  Just outside the Hyperion is this student / faculty lounge which can also be incorporated into the Hyperion set when available.  This lounge is another cool feature of the Hyperion.

Imagine being on a LDM (Long Duration Mission) with a 30 minutes jump time to your next destination.  The first officer gives you and a few members of the crew a well deserved break for a bit of rest and relaxation. You step out of the Briefing Room and into this lounge for a quick gossip, a bit of light hearted banter, and a rousing game of Risk or Monopoly.  Life on a Farpoint Jumpship doesn't get any better!

An Alien Substance Discovered in Mr. Williamson's Classroom. What is it? Is it of this Planet?

Several weeks ago Isaac, Spencer, and Jensen (my competent and enthusiastic staff) decided to prank Mr. Williamson by dropping a penny into my bottle of hand sanitizer used to protect myself from the flu ridden air and pneumonia infected droplets coughed up by my 70 sixth graders.  A week or so later we noticed something growing on the penny.

Jensen's science teacher's husband is some kind of a biologist. Jensen took the bottle with the alien growth to school seeking answers as to what the substance is and from where it comes.  We're waiting for the results.  I'll keep you informed.  Until then, let's keep this between ourselves. I don't want the Center for Disease Control rifling through my room and possible quarenteening all of us until the mystery is resolved.
