Chris Alldredge Retires from the Magellan.  The Magellan Becomes a DS 9 Station.  The Discovery Room Officially Opens.

Magellan.

Let us publically bid Mr. A farewell and good luck with Powerschool. The next time that the Magellan is run it will most likely be a "DS9-like" station. A station of Cardassian design run by the Federation. Only time will tell how successful this new transition is.

Discovery.

The Briefing Room of the Magellan is, as far as I am concerned, complete. The hallway is beautiful. Mr. Adams has done an excellent job on the room and hallway. Discovery will begin to be used next weekend. The Magellan is growing and with it so does the ability for away missions. Away Mission = Magellan? Yes it will happen and soon.

Magellan's Control Room Door.

As of 11-11-00 the door to the control room of the Magellan is off limits. The Discovery is up and running so that door will be used from now on. Just FYI.

A Great Bombardment and Dodgeball Challenge Announced for November 25th!
Hello Voyagers!
Please go at once to the polls sections to read of the great rematch proclaimed by the Emperor for the COLISEUM November 25 from 4-6 P.M.This rematch is open to staff, blue shirts, retired blue shirts, and Voyager Society Volunteers. Sorry Waiting Volunteers. Your time will come.

ROMAN TIMES
Edition XVII
Date: November XV

This just in to our central office in Rome from Gaul.

Gaul (RP) The decree issued from Rome today has brought a rush of excitement through Gaul. The Governor, Lucious Millus, has just sent a runner to the humble home of Gladiator Charlus Heatonus to deliver the news of the rematch dubbed, The Clash of Titans. It is well known in this province that Charlus, native son of Parisum, honored himself and his countrymen in the last battle against the overpowering strength of the Imperial Staff and Blue Shirts of the 4th Legion in the Coliseum
Games of November VI.

This reporter will continue to cover all aspects of the pre-game events as the great day approaches.

(OK folks. Let's have some fun with this. I've set the example. Now lets read your reports. Staff and Blue shirts you report from Rome. Voyager Society Volunteers you report from the provinces. Let's try to keep the history fairly correct. I waiting to read some creative work here. Those not attending can still issue reports leading up to this great contest.)

Senatorum Ad Hoc
Edition: CCCCMMXVII
Date: Ides Noventiuus

Let it be henceforth known to the people of Rome, a contest is about. With permission of the consul Victorius Maximae Williamsonica the contest is to be held in the great forum of the Roman Colosseum. The challenge being to the great gladiators of Rome versus the local talents of the colonists. It will be a
superior fight with the great out pouring of colonial blood reminding them who doth reign supreme. Come great warriors of Rome, make thine voice public. Make the Rubicon flow red with their blood. We, the true citizens of Rome, the Senate, the Consul, we shall stand victorious over these client states. We shall show them who "nil scit". We cannot allow them to steady their feet, grasp of the divine weaponry or to challenge us on our home territory. Veni, Vedi, Vici (we came, we saw, we kicked gluteus maximus [literal translation])

So says I
Davicius Stevonicuus Merrellium

Hark all, the great Charleus Heatonus is speaking!! I come to you with a matter of grave importance. More epic than the great war of Rome, more drastic then the crusades, THE CLASH OF THE TITANS!! I,  Charleus, would like to place a friendly wager on this "Clash." The wager I propose is this: If the blue shirts happen to win then: all volenteers present at the games will forfeit all of their votes during the month of December. That's right. Every volunteer that goes on an overnighter, and was present for the clash of the titans, will not be eligible for votes. Volunteers will also get up in front of all of the kids on those overnighters and do a little, lame, weird dance in front of them all to the tune of "I'm a little tea pot" or something. The same goes for the blue shirts. When the volenteers win the blue shirts at the games will have to, for the whole month of December: forfeit their votes to the volenteers. They would also have
to do a little dance or something. Deal? I should think that the so called "Blue Shirts of the 4th legion" wouldn't mind that, them being sooo tough to beat and all. My offer stands. Take it or leave it.

THE GREAT CHARLEUS HEATONUS HAS SPOKEN!!

Chuck Heaton

All,
One of the most important rules of betting is to make a fair bet. First of all, you want to make the
wager even. Since the volunteers clearly get more votes this bet does not benefit you very well. And
secondly, YOU WILL NEVER BE VICTORIOUS OVER THE BLUE SHIRTS.

-James Porter

All,
First of all I'll address Craigus of Wilsonus's comment. I will not revoke my bet. It stands, and I'd encourage any honorable or courageous volenteer to stand by me. I'd now like to address Mr. James's
statement. It seems to me that "James" is hesitant on making this bet. I'd like to take this further James, between you and me. Mono y mono. If I hit you more times then you hit me then you have to personally deliver me a pizza of my choice (no more then 8.00) at the December social. If you hit me more times then I hit you throughout the whole game, then i'll deliver a pizza of your choice to you (no more then 8.00). Deal? I should think james could back up his boastful words.

Charleus Heatonus has spoken

Chuck Heaton

Friends, Romans, Staff members, Leand me your ears..

It is a regretful thing I must disclose to you. In our campaign against the rebellious Jewish zealots at Masada, I sustained a myocardial infarction. I will be spending some time recuperating from my infarction in my homeland, the Province of Ibo-pahnius Maximus.  It saddens my heart to think that I should miss out on such a noble show of strength. I know the Legion will be left in very good hands, and I have no doubt that we shall vanquish those barbarian volunteers and arise victorious above the tumultuous cry of those less fortunate who wear not the "Blue Shirt"!  Jupiter bless the Emperor and all who serve under him. Pretaurian Guard Honorius Rio Bacuus Downcletian.

Rio Downs

Greetings,

I speak and you must listen, for
I am the Fish and A very powerful
figure in Rome. For I am the
Master General of Intelligence
and war machines to the Caesar.

I will come out from my Imperial
Palace and place of royal work
for the Caesar, to witness and take
part in the slaughtering of the
weak peasants this day, yes those
who clean my dumping rock so
inefficiently and those who
increase my insurance deductible by
breaking their bones in nonsense
games and fun when they should be
working at the Emperor's palace and
mine.

Oh what the heck, Kill em'
Kill them all!
Let the slaughter of the weak things
begin...

- Senator Davious Killious Herringous.

and all who distroy his enemy's".

The gym that love forgot.
By: Stephen Porter

Twas cold that november night
in the gym that love forgot
the ball, well they took flight
and alas twas all for naught.

King Victor called us out
"NO WAY!" we would retort
get your backs against this wall
it's an old school... it needs your support.

Then Randy threw the ball
lobbed high and soft and wimpy
brady young did miss the catch
because he was too shrimpy.

The spheres do hurt
the spheres do sting
the voulenteers
thier ears will ring.

Fear me... I am Stephen

Thank you *bow* that you.
(yeah I know... it is a stupid poem. I only like the part about Mr. Williamsom.

The Blue Shirts win the Bombardment Challenge

I, Charleus of Oremus hereby declare defeat and by royal decree acknowledge the Blue Shirts of the 4th Legion to be supreme beings before the games, during the games, and after the games. I will stand by my bet and forfeit all of my votes and I encourage, but not require, any volunteers to do the same. I will also deliver James, the score being 4-2 in favor of James, a pizza of his choice at the
next social. Great job James and Blue shirts. Until the next uprising of the Volunteers, this is Chuckifus saying good night.

Dave Wall Needs Help Finishing the USS Pathfinder Simulator in Salt Lake

Fellow Space Cadets:

The Pathfinder needs help. The construction is going well, but it is moving too slowly and I need to get going. I am asking for (preferably skilled) any help I can get for this Friday and Saturday. Please support me in this event. E-mail me (dwall@niche-associates.com) if you think you might be able to help.

If you aren't particularly skilled at building, I can probably find something for you to do--there is always toilet cleaning (just speaking figuratively...the Pathfinder, like the ships in Star Trek, doesn't have a toilet). I will be starting around 1000 in the morning and will be going until about 2100 (9:00 p.m.) on Friday and not quite that late on Saturday.

The Pathfinder is located in a trailer to the north of the building at Bonneville Elementary, 1145 S. 1900 E. Salt Lake City.

Note: This is not a tour or open house, that will come later. Please come if you are ready to work your fingers off.
